History
Way To Grow was established in 1989 to dramatically improve children's readiness for kindergarten. Concerned about the number of children who started behind - and stayed behind - their peers in school, Mayor Don Fraser and other community leaders started Way To Grow to provide school readiness and family support programs. As a program of the Minneapolis Youth Coordinating Board for fifteen years, Way To Grow helped thousands of families improve parenting skills, achieve healthier pregnancies and babies, and prepare their children for kindergarten.
Mission
To engage diverse parents and families to nurture and prepare their children for school and life success through community-driven family support programs and connections to services.
